Fred Miller and Dr. LB Hannahs talk with Albany Business Review on Moving Forward

Fred Miller & Dr. LB Hannahs joined the Albany Business Review on a panel related to Moving Forward in the inclusion, diversity, and equity movement. Read a recap of the panel here. The virtual panel discussion centered around what work's been done and what still needs attention; steps the region's business community has taken to close diversity, equity and inclusion gaps; and what the future could — or should — hold for the movement.

“I say to [clients], 'You shouldn't be doing this because you think you have to do it, because it's the good thing, the right thing — you should do it because it's going to help your enterprise be better. And if you can't connect it to your mission, your vision or your strategy, don't do it.' Now, I believe everybody can. So the bottom line is you can, but y'all internally in the organization have to figure out how is this going to help you be more successful as an enterprise. And that's got to be very, very, very clear. So that is core, that is part of the survival, because once it's in that core, then it doesn't go in and out and fade and up some years and down some years. ... Once it's core, it's like a company saying, 'Well, our manufacturing is poor, but we're not going to manufacture now because we've got other things going on.' And they've got to understand it's a culture change, it changes how you operate.” -Fred Miller
