This event, sponsored by the Leadership Institute of Seattle, The Pacific Northwest Organization Development Network (PNODN), and the Institute for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion (ISDI) features Fred Miller of The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group. Fred, alongside co-author Judith Katz, has dedicated over 50 years to ensuring that individuals at all levels and identities have the power and voice to drive positive change in their organizations.
This workshop is based on Fred and Judith's upcoming book, The Power of Agency. Agency is another way of saying "use of self" which is at the heart of LIOS learning. The task of each organization is to create workplaces that are aligned, where one can cultivate greater autonomy, clarify and expand authority, and influence in every role. This is a unique opportunity to gain insights directly from Fred.
Building Agency is not an easy task primarily because we are all trained from birth in a set of societal, familial, regional, and cultural norms that keep us from being fully open and present to going after our wants and desires or worse, teaches us how to blame and that problems are others responsibility.
The Power of Agency is an important book as it begins to help one see the possibilities of how to “be” and provides a path to shedding unwanted habits and stepping into a more authentic empowered self.
