Sexual Harassment Training in New York State

Last year New York State, where KJCG is located, mandated that all companies provide sexual harassment training to their employees no matter what the size of the workforce and update their internal policies. In the time of #metoo and #timesup, we are proud to see New York leading the country in some the requirements placed on organizations.

We recently did our first round of training and it sparked many great conversations in our office. You can see an example of the training here. One of our main conversations was around if organizations will have the culture necessary to make the requirements possible. It is one thing to educate employees, but it is another to have the interaction safety required to enable a person to speak up and address an issue.

While this training is great, it is also just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many other types of workplace harassment that occur that this training does not address.
