Jury holds a police officer accountable for the murder of George Floyd
On Tuesday, a jury held a police officer accountable for the murder of George Floyd. We are glad to see accountability take place, but we know that instances such as these are rare and only when our institutions and their members are fully accountable can we begin to create true justice. This is just one of countless instances of injustice and racism that happen each and every day to Black and Brown people. In addition, the past months have brought increased visibility to the anti-Asian sentiment and violence in this country. This is once again an opportunity for meaningful, structural change and we continue to support the voices who recognize that all forms of racism and oppression must be addressed and eliminated.
For 51 years, we have worked with our clients to create systemic culture change – and the experiences of the last year have made us even more committed to our work. We know that if you are reading this statement, you share our desire to end injustice and dehumanizing behaviors. Please know that no action is too small as we combine our collective energy to root out racism and create a better world for ALL.
